$1,000 Monthly Stimulus Checks for Thousands of American Families: Will You Qualify?

Residents of Los Angeles, California, will soon benefit from the new BIG: LEAP basic income program. This plan gives money to accepted candidates regularly. However, according to current online speculations, officials will release fourth stimulus checks totaling $15,000. Unfortunately, this turned out to be untrue.

Thousands of Families in California Will Get $1,000

According to Spectrum News, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti just launched the BIG: LEAP initiative, which provides guaranteed basic income. For a year, about 3,203 LA families will get $1000 monthly payments. “We’re taking a significant step forward in our generational effort to eradicate poverty,” Garcetti added.

The BIG: LEAP initiative, which is anticipated to serve 10,000 to 20,000 Angelenos, has a $38 million budget. It is encouraged that interested parties submit their applications via this website. Please keep in mind that applications will be accepted only from October 29 to November 7. Applications received after the deadline are immediately rejected.

It’s also worth noting that the program has certain qualifying limitations. These are the following:

  • A person who lives in Los Angeles.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Have at least one dependant (under the age of 18 or a student between the ages of 18 and 24) or are presently pregnant
  • Income is below the poverty line set by the federal government.
  • COVID-19 has caused you financial or medical hardship.

The government will review the applications and offer the program to individuals who would gain the most from it. Because this is not a first-come, first-served situation, all candidates who submit an application have an equal chance of being picked.

Finally, bear in mind that the initiative aims to assist 12% of Council District 9 inhabitants. According to Spectrum News, Council District 8, which encompasses Crenshaw, Jefferson Park, Leimert Park, West Adams, and other South LA neighborhoods, will earn 10% of the vote.

Fourth Stimulus Checks Coming? Maybe Not!

Recently, authorities found a fraudulent claim online that preys on people’s hopes. LALATE, a YouTube channel with over 400,000 followers, announced a fourth stimulus check on their Thursday report. The whole announcement video is linked below this page.

There has been no formal announcement concerning a fourth stimulus check as of this writing. Even though the White House has neither authorized or disapproved the plan, analysts feel that a fresh stimulus check is improbable at this time. AS News said the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill sucked up $579 billion in federal money. None of the funds were utilized for stimulus checks, which is notable.

Another cause might be the continued payments of the child tax credit. Each child under six receives $1,800, and each child from six to seventeen receives $1,500. The budget is divided into monthly checks, which began in July of last year. With these two active programs, the government will probably not afford a fourth stimulus check.

On the other hand, Republic Monitor said local government agencies had undertaken their own state-wide stimulus checks.
