A car crash claimed a young mom’s life and injured a toddler Sunday night around 11 p.m. in Queens as Park Lane South near Mayfair Road in Kew Gardens. Authorities said that a car where a family of three had crashed into another vehicle.
Drunk Driving
The young mom was identified as Maria Fernanda, from Stamford, a 22-year old woman sitting in the backseat of the 1997 Toyota Corolla with her 3-year old son. The Husband, Daniel Aguirre, who was allegedly drunk, according to cops, drove west on Park Lane South near Mayfair Road in Kew Gardens.
According to New York Post, street cops have said that the 21-year old Daniel Aguirre suddenly crossed the double yellow lines and smashed head-on into another car, a 2014 Toyota Camry that was heading east on the same street.
Both parents and the child were pinned inside the car when the FDNY arrived and were needed to be extracted. It was then found out that the young mom, Fernanda, was not wearing a seatbelt and had sustained severe head and body trauma and was immediately taken to Jamaica University Hospital Medical Center, where she took her last breath.

Husband Taken Into Custody
The 3-year old was taken into Long Island Jewish Medical Center along with her father and found that they were in a stable condition with no injuries visible. According to authorities, the unnamed 44-year old Toyota Camry driver was also taken to Jamaica Hospital and had also suffered minor injuries.
Daniele Aguirre was now taken into custody and was charged with Aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated and Vehicular Manslaughter.
