I’m always looking for natural ways to solve health issues. Here are seven quick natural remedies for common problems your family may encounter.
For Sore ThroatMix 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar with raw honey (optional) and drink in 8 oz water six or more times a day until symptoms disappear.
For Ear InfectionThere's a simple, cheap remedy. At the first sign of a cold or ear infection, have the person lie on his/her side. Drop 3 percent Hydrogen Peroxide into the ear.
For CongestionInstead of OTC drugs, I take Vitamin C every couple hours until symptoms fade.
For Nausea, Morning Sickness or Motion SicknessPeppermint, ginger, and fennel are also effective. For kids with motion sickness or nausea, I rub peppermint oil on their feet, chest, and back of neck.
For FeverPure peppermint oil (adults) or diluted peppermint oil (babies and children) can lower a fever without drugs. The back of the neck is the body's heat centre, so an ice pack there is also effective.
For BleedingPour cayenne pepper powder (organic if possible) directly into cuts, scrapes, and other bleeding wounds. It burns for a few minutes but aids clotting.
For StingsDon't squeeze stinger. Apply toothpaste or baking soda/water to stings. Pain should fade quickly. A drop of lavender oil will do.
