Death Note’s manga continues to give us optimism that the show will return for a second season.
How ‘Death Note’ Catches the Attention of Its Viewers
15 years after its debut, ‘Death Note’ remains one of the most popular and profitable anime of all time. The manga series ‘Death Note,’ written by Tsugumi Ohba and drawn by Takeshi Obata, is the inspiration for ‘Death Note.’ Since its debut in October 2006, the 37-episode Anime TV Series has been airing in Japan. A whopping 2,191,877 people rated and reviewed the show, giving it an overall rating of 8.63/10.
A second season of the anime series has been anticipated by fans for the longest period. Madhouse, the company responsible for the popular anime’s creation, has been tight-lipped regarding plans for a second season.
Will There Be A Season 2?
The sequel to the first ‘Death Note’ anime has been a long time coming. Rumors of a second ‘Death Note’ film have been circulating for some time now. No official word yet on whether or if there will be a sequel to the original anime.
Madhouse’s failure to produce a sequel despite the series’ immense success may have you scratching your head. It’s mostly due to a shortage of resources. Each of the 12 tankobon volumes includes 108 chapters from the manga. The original material has already been well used in the anime version.
Season 2 of ‘Death Note’ has not yet been announced. We won’t know anything about the storyline until the formal announcement is made. Our best assumption is that ‘Death Note: Special One Shot’ will be used in season two. Season 2 might begin with a time leap and a new enemy and storyline.
