What Should You Know About ‘Blue Lock’?
Since August 2018, Blue Lock has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and drawn by Yusuke Nomura. After the Japanese national soccer team was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup, the Japan Football Union hires a mystery guy dubbed Ego Jinpachi to enhance Japan’s World Cup performance. His objective is to bring 300 U-18 forwards to the newly built Blue Lock facility and teach them to be the finest striker in the world.
Only one forward will be chosen as Japan’s next national striker; the other 299 will never be permitted to play for the national team. Yoichi Isagi was one of the chosen 300, having recently suffered a sad loss at the National High School Football Qualifiers after passing to a teammate rather than taking a shot himself. Yoichi Isagi and the other strikers are followed as they compete to develop their ego and become the best forward in the world.
Release Date
The Blue Lock anime series is planned to launch in 2022, though no precise date has been revealed. The anime will be directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe and animated by Eight Bit Studio, which is best known for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Jun Murayama will compose the music, while Taku Kishimoto will handle the series creation and storyline.
