Workers To Receive $600 Stimulus Check
$700 million in government relief funds will be used to reimburse qualifying employees for Covid-19-related expenditures. Funds have been put aside by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for personnel who had to cover unforeseen expenditures, such as buying their own safety gear and taking unpaid leave.
In order to ensure that employees get their money, a deadline for submitting applications to disburse the monies is fast approaching. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, farm and food workers may be entitled to financial assistance.
Around $665 million was made aside by the USDA for farmers and meatpackers who paid out of pocket for the pandemic’s preparedness, prevention, and response. Personal protective equipment, child care, and Covid testing are all examples of possible expenses.
Other Workers To Receive $600 Stimulus Check
Payments were made to grocery shop workers in the United States during the outbreak of Covid-19. Employees at grocery stores will get a grant totaling $20 million under a USDA program, but just how much they will receive is still up in the air.
Funds allocated to grocery store employees are intended to both acknowledge and compensate them for their important job. For farmworkers, meatpackers, and grocery store workers, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will not be managing their paychecks.
Instead, state agencies, nonprofits, and local governments may be expected to foot the bill. According to the USDA’s website, grant applicants will be able to apply for a portion of the $700 million in relief monies. The opening date for applications has yet to be announced by the agency.
