Andrew Weissmann is an American attorney as well as a professor.
From 1991 to 2002, he worked as an Assistant United States Attorney, handling significant cases involving organized crime. Later, he played a key role as the chief prosecutor in the Office of Special Counsel of Robert S. Mueller from 2017 to 2019.
Previously, he served as the Chief of the Fraud Section at the Department of Justice from 2015 to 2017. Nowadays, he is sharing his knowledge as a professor at NYU Law School.

In 2002, President George W. Bush selected Weissmann as Deputy Director and later Director of the FBI’s Enron Task Force. From 2011 to 2013, he held the role of General Counsel at the FBI.
Moving forward to 2015, he became the elder in charge of the Criminal Fraud Section in the US Department of Justice. Then, in June 2017, he received a key role in the special counsel team led by Robert Mueller in 2017. To take on this new responsibility, Weissmann took leave from his job at the Justice Department. The special counsel’s investigation was completed in 2019 and thereafter, Weissmann moved into the private sector.
