Chief Adedeji Aderemi was well-known as the Olofa Ina and Baba Olofa. He was a popular Nigerian Actor. During his lifetime, Olofa Ina gained wide recognition in the modern Yoruba theater scene.

In 1972, Olofa started the Olofa Ina Theater Group, collaborating with talents such as Erinfolamin, Dasofunjo, Gbolagede Akinpelu, and the late Oyetunji of Esinla.

In addition to his achievements in theatre, Olofa Ina also expanded into television and oversaw the production of series like Lakaaye, Odetedo, Kogun Maja, and Ade Oba.

Olofa Ina was born on 15 May 1950 in Ede, Osun State, Southwestern Nigeria.

Olofa Ina’s parents were the Late Chief AbdulSalam Aderemi (father) and the Late Madam Aisha Aderemi (mother).

Recently the news of Olofa Ina’s death is coming to light. Olofa Ina died at the age of 71. The reason behind Olofa Ina’s death is still hidden.

The demise of Chief Adedeji Aderemi, also known as Olofa Ina, was shared by fellow actor Saidi Balogun on Thursday night via his Instagram account (@SaidiBalogun).

He posted a photo of Olofa Ina and captioned it, “Goodnight legend Chief Deji Akinremi (Olofa Ina) RIP.” As per current reports, the cause of his demise is unknown.

Olofa Ina attended St. Peters Anglican Primary School for his primary education from 1957 to 1962. Later, from 1963 to 1965, he continued his schooling at Baptist Secondary Modern School in Ode-Omu.

Olofa Ina was a married man. Unfortunately, the name of Olofa Ina’s wife is not available. He is blessed with children. Additionally, Olofa Ina follows the Christian faith.

Baba Olofa Ina embarked on a diverse career journey while serving as a Grade II Officer in the Ministry of Works and Transport, Ibadan from 1970 to 1977.

Subsequently, he held the role of Maintenance Officer at Dalson Hotel, Jericho Reservation, Idi-Isin, Oyo State until his retirement in 1980. After retirement, he immersed himself fully in theater arts practice.

Baba Olofa Ina laid the foundation for his theatrical success by founding the Olofa Ina Theater Group in 1972. He pioneered the staging of epic histories of Yoruba chieftains, gaining recognition through productions documented by Nigerian Television (NTV) Ibadan in the 70s.

Demonstrating his versatile skills, Baba Olofa Ina ventured into screenwriting, script dialogue, directing, and acting in various Yoruba movies and television series. Some notable acts include Ija Omode, Idamu Otunba, Ewe Orun, Ejo Ngboro, Kabiyesi Olodumare, Lisabi Agbongbo Akala, Mayegun, and more.

His lasting impact on the industry and significant contribution to Yoruba entertainment will be sorely missed by fans and colleagues alike. While his net worth was estimated at around $13 million, his legacy in the world of theater is priceless.
