This was disputed by a senior source working in Osborne’s office at the time. Subsequently, Charlotte worked in his constituency office in Tatton in 2012. Charlotte was a member of the local Conservative Association and Conservative Future.

It was announced on 9th June 2023, that Charlotte would receive a life peerage in honor of Johnson’s resignation. But after the announcement, the decision was criticized. The reason for this was that Charlotte had no experience and did not contribute to British politics or society.
Charlotte Owen was created Baroness Owen, of Alderley Edge in the County of Cheshire, on 12 July 2023. Charlotte serves as a Conservative peer in the House of Lords.
