$6,300 Stimulus Checks To Be Distributed

Students at a medical school in Atlanta, Georgia, will get a large Christmas present in the next few days. Students at Morehouse School of Medicine will get $6,300 to cover different education-related costs, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a published article in The U.S. Sun.

On Wednesday, Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, the school’s president, sent a message to all students describing the many ways they might make use of the grant money.

She said, “I am happy to announce that Morehouse School of Medicine will provide a financial gift of $6,300 to assist each of our currently enrolled, degree-seeking students with additional academic, financial, and mental health support costs such as childcare, food, transportation, housing, and healthcare needs.”

Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act of 2020 was enacted by Congress and signed into law by then-President Trump in March. In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, Congress passed a $2.2 trillion bill to aid citizens and companies alike.

Other Medical Schools that Distribute Stimulus Checks

Meharry Medical College, a black medical school in Nashville, Tennessee, gave out awards totaling $10,000 to 956 of its students in November. As of two weeks ago, those with direct deposit were expected to get their money.

In the wake of the economic downturn, a number of schools and universities have begun handing out financial assistance to their students. In the following weeks, families may also get a monetary infusion. On the 15th of December, the last wave of advance payments for the Child Tax Credit will be given out.

Families with children under the age of six are eligible for $300 per child, while families with children between the ages of six and 17 are eligible for $250 per child. Those who have children may claim up to $1,800 in child tax credits next year.
