The 32-year-old South African actress and model, Charli Dean had a sudden demise in August. By the time the reason for her death was not revealed. The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed his death news on Wednesday to USA TODAY. According to the medical examiner, the “Triangle of Sadness” actress died of a bacterial infection.
The bacteria that caused the sepsis was capnocytophaga. The infection is rare and there are different species of Capnocytophaga that develop in the mouth of humans and are also present in the mouth of cats and dogs.

Charlbi Dean’s Cause of Death Revealed
According to the medical examiner- “Dean’s case of sepsis complicated her asplenia, a condition in which the spleen is absent or not functioning properly, which was “due to remote blunt force trauma of torso,”
In August Dean’s brother revealed that Dean was in a very very bad car accident that resulted in removing of her spleen. Jacobs, her brother told Rolling Stone-
“This happened literally within the span of a day: getting a headache, going to sleep, waking up her boyfriend and saying please take me to the hospital,” “We still aren’t entirely sure [what happened],” Jacobs added at the time. “There’s an autopsy being done which we know might take quite a while. But what we have heard [that] there was a viral infection in her lungs.” “[The spleen is] involved in fighting off infections, and that could have had something to do with what happened,”
Jacobs further said. “Her spleen not being there just added to the reason why she perhaps couldn’t fight it off.”
Charlbi’s fiance Volker also mourns her death on Instagram in a brief video showing the appreciation for the messages he received after her death.
“Hi, everyone. I wanted to just post a picture of Charlbi, but it’s a bit hard,” began Volker, 26. “And just wanted to let you know I see all your messages, all the love, and I appreciate it. I really do. It’s just I can’t really reply to them right now. But thank you, guys. I appreciate it. I love you.”

Charlbi Dean full name Charlbi Dean Kriek was born and raised in Cape Town. She began modelling at a young age and appeared on various magazine covers in the decades following. Charlbi made her acting debut with the film ” Spud” in 2010. The film was about a boy’s boarding school and an adaptation of a popular South African novel starring Australian pop singer Troye Sivan and John Cleese. Her most recognised role came from the “Triangle of Sadness,” the first English-language film from Swedish “Force Majeure” directed by Ruben Ostlund.
