Ceili Mclnerney is a transition year student from 5 Cluain Mhic Tire, The Ballagh. The student was attending the Colaiste an Atha open evening in Kilmuckridge on 13th October, Thursday when she experienced an asthma attack. Her condition led to the evacuation of the entire school. The student received immediate assistance through the community of first responders at the scene. The ambulance service followed, and she was admitted to Wexford General Hospital. Ceili was later transferred to Crumlin Hospital, where she took her last breath on 17th October. The student met the response of Gorey Municipal District Cllr Mary Farrell, who, as per his position of chairperson of Colaiste an Atha Board of Management and first responder in the scene, wishes to offer his sympathies to Ceili’s family personally, teachers, and her classmates.
How did Ceili Mclnerney die?
The death cause of Ceili Mclnerney was not confirmed, along with the announcement of her death. The basic assumption which led to this heartbreaking tragedy is the lack of oxygen due to the asthma attack. The problem with this assumption is that according to the theory, Ceili’s death should have been instant, but the girl survived a handful of days in the hospital. This shows that the asthma attack did not necessarily cause her death. Her death may be connected to an asthma attack like lung inflammation. The reports have been revealed, so everyone can only speculate about what happened to the girl.
How does Ceili Mclnerney’s death affect her school?
The unexpected and sudden death shocked the entire school, and everyone who participated in Ceili’s rescue or was present in the event with her found it hard to cope. After the revelation of her death news, the teachers and fellow students offered condolences and tribute to her family and friends. Our spirits were buoyed today listening to the many wonderful stories about her kindness, her fierce loyalty, her sense of fun, and her sense of adventure. The entire Coláiste an Átha school community would like to offer our sincere condolences to Céilí’s family and friends at this sad time. She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her.

Ceili Mclernerny’s cremation and celebration of her life:
Ceili’s remains were sent to her family on Wednesday between 2 pm and 7 pm. The family has decided to celebrate her life which is set to take place at Newlands Cross Crematorium on 20th October at 2 pm. Her cremation will later follow the event.
Ceili will be remembered and loved by her divorced parents, Carol and Ciaran, and their spouses, Alan and Deborah, along with her beloved brothers and sister Ciaran, Stephen, Shannan, Aaron, Ceidhlim, and Cadan, as well as their partners Cathy, Trinny and Anto. Her surviving family includes Ceili’s nephew Joacb, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
