Sam Bankman Fried is now sentenced to prison for 25 years by a judgment given by the judge this Thursday for robbing a large amount of $8 billion from the existing customers of the fully bankrupt firm called the FTX cryptocurrency in exchange he also found that this to be marked as the last step in the ex- billionaire wunderkind’s a drastic as well as dramatic downfall.
U.S. District Judge named Lewis Kaplan has given this judgment as he handed down the sentence at a Manhattan court after hearing Bankman and also rejecting his claim that these FTX customers have not been robbed for their money as he lied while giving his testimony. A jury authority who was present had previous evidence as well that found Bankman-Fried, 32, as a criminal on Nov. 2 on the seven fraud case along with the conspiracy counts which is stemming from this FTX’s 2022 collapse in what the court authorities have called it one of the greatest financial frauds in U.S. history.
Judge Kaplan said that this criminal-minded Bankman-Fried has shown no regrets.
As he further narrated Bankman always knew that whatever he was doing is wrong because it was well planned by his criminal mind, he regrets that he is caught now, but definitely, he is never going to admit it.
Bankman has now also appealed his conviction and the sentence.
Bankman-Fried stood very still while carefully hearing his sentence afterward he had a word with his lawyer before being taken out of the courtroom.
