Brian Ortega was expected to begin his UFC journey against Diego Brandão at The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale on May 31, 2014. However, his debut was delayed until July 26, 2014, at UFC on Fox 12, where he faced Mike De La Torre.
In a thrilling encounter on June 6, 2015, at UFC Fight Night 68, Brian Ortega squared off against Thiago Tavares. After a gripping battle, Ortega emerged victorious with a TKO in the third round, earning both fighters Fight of the Night honors.
