Marvin Jarman Death: What Happened to Marvin Jarman?

Marvin Jarman, a longtime coach and supporter of J.H. Rose High School, passed away on Sunday morning. Not long after 9 a.m., the J.H. Rose athletic department took to Twitter to announce Jarman’s passing.

“Thank you to all who have reached out recently, but we wanted to let everyone know Marvin now has the best seat in the house for all sporting events,” the institution stated on Twitter.

Who was Marvin Jarman?

Jarman, 77, a Colorado native born in 1947, was a regular at Rampants games. He hadn’t missed a football game since 1972, a J.H. Rose basketball game since 1966, and a baseball game only if it conflicted with a playoff basketball game until last month.

Jarman had an incalculable influence on the Greenville athletics community during his life. Well-known for his extensive knowledge and ardent love of athletics, he was a devoted friend, mentor, and supporter of many. All who knew him respected and loved him for his unwavering attendance at J.H. Rose athletic events and his sincere appreciation for the local sports scene.
