According to the News, Amari Crite, 14, a ninth-grade Momence High School starter, fell during Thursday’s home game against Tri-Point while heading to the end of the basketball floor.
The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office says the cause of the teen’s death is being investigated.
A Fundraising Tribute for Amari Crite
Amari Crite’s untimely death has shocked her family and friends. According to WFGA Radio, she was scheduled to play against Tri-Point High School before her death. She was born to Anthony and Michelle Crite and was supposedly a basketball and volleyball player at Momence High School.
Amari’s family has now started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her funeral, with a goal of $15,000. The description on the page began with mentioning the girl’s death and continued:
