Firefighter Marques Hudson died while responding to a house fire on Friday.
The actual cause of the fire is still being investigated. Plainfield’s mayor stated that the community is more than just in sorrow; it is a family suffering from irreplaceable loss.
Plainfield police officers guarded the sorrowful scene Saturday morning. Hudson’s last report was to a substantially damaged two-family home, which now has warning tape around it.
