David Goggins is an American retired United States Navy SEAL.
David Goggins is also an ultra-distance cyclist, ultramarathon runner, triathlete, and public speaker, as well as the author of two memoirs.

Instead of taking the normal route, Goggins took some special training in the United States Air Force called Tactical Air Control Party (TACP). He did this from 1994 to 1999, working closely with British counterparts such as Flight Sergeant Jones, Flight Sergeant Nairn, and Private Noble. But after this, he decided to leave the Air Force.
In 2005, Goggins did something really hard – he entered a 24-hour ultramarathon called the San Diego One Day. After that, he completed the Las Vegas Marathon in a time that qualified him for the Boston Marathon. In 2006, he competed in the HURT 100 in Hawaii and was even invited to the 2006 Badwater-135, where he had a great performance and finished 5th overall.
People in the running world took notice of him, and in 2008 Runner’s World named him a “Hero of Running”. Then, in 2016, Goggins won Infinitas 88k in just 12 hours. That same year, he also won the Music City Ultra 50k and the Strolling Gym 40 Miler.
He wrote a book called “Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds”, which came out on December 4, 2018. In the book, he talks about something he calls the “40% rule,” saying that most people, even when they work really hard, they In fact, we use only about 40% of what we can.
