Dexter Scott King was known as Dexter King. He was a talented American civil and animal rights activist, author, as well as an attorney.

Dexter King was well-recognized as the second son of rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

Dexter King was also known as the brother of Bernice King, Martin Luther King III, and Yolanda King.

As an author, Dexter King released “Growing Up King: An Intimate Memoir”.

Recently the news of Dexter King’s death is coming out. Dexter King died on January 22, 2024, at his home in Malibu, California, United States, at the age of 62.

Dexter King’s cause of death was prostate cancer.

Dexter King died eight days before his 63rd birthday. After hearing the news of Dexter King’s death, his fans have paid tribute to him on social media.

Dexter Scott King was once president of the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change. However, due to disagreements, he left the position just four months after starting.

He returned to the role in 1994, but by then the King Center was no longer as effective. When he was president, he reduced the number of employees from 70 to 14 and closed a childcare center. He focused more on preserving his father’s legacy rather than traditional activities.

In 1999, Dexter Scott King voiced his father’s character in the educational film “Our Friend, Martin”. The film was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program.

In 2002, Dexter also played the role of Martin Luther King Jr. in the American TV movie “The Rosa Parks Story”.
