John Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant was an American techno DJ and music producer.
He grew up enjoying the music of bands like The Cure, The Smiths, My Bloody Valentine, New Order, and Sonic Youth. At the age of just 16, he started playing DJ.
In 1999, he came into contact with Regis, who started the Downward Records label in Birmingham. This led to him joining Regis’ Sandwell District group. Together, they released several singles during the 2000s. Mendez also took on the role of art director for the Sandwell District.

It is believed that Silent Servant died in the same incident as his partners Simon Ling and The Soft Moon (Luis Vasquez).

Silent Servant’s real name was John Juan Mendez. Silent Servant was born on 14 August 1977 in Central America. Silent Servant was brought up in Los Angeles. When Silent Servant died his age was 46 years.
