John Short was a well-known Canadian sports journalist and broadcaster.
John Short used to write a column for the Edmonton Sun. Short had previous roles at The Canadian Press, the Edmonton Journal and served as director of public relations for the Edmonton Oilers. Additionally, he hosted several sports-related radio shows.
John Short was born on January 31, 1937 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
In 1988, John Short earned a spot in the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. He was recognized with the Chester Bell Memorial Award for his exceptional sports writing and the Fred Sgambati National Award for university sports coverage.
John Short served on the board of directors of Alberta Sport Connection and contributed to the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame selection committee.
