Dennis Oliver, the forty-year-old morning radio DJ who uplifted the Tri-States and generally made people feel good, passed away in Quincy on Thursday.
Oliver, 69, announced his retirement from radio in 2016 and the same year, he said he was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
Oliver, a Pittsfield, Illinois native who goes by “D.O.” to his devoted listeners. He started his illustrious career in 1976 at WBBA, the town’s main radio station. When he later joined Canton, Missouri’s KQCA Radio in 1980, he played a significant role in its growth.

Dennis was a key figure in the founding of KQCA Radio in Canton, Missouri, and he went on to build KRRY, now known as 100.9 The Eagle, where he worked steadily until his well-earned retirement in 2016.
