Lisandro Meza was a well-known Colombian singer and accordionist. Lisandro Meza began playing the accordion in 1959, after which he became known as the “King of Cumbia,” “El Macho de América” (ENG: The man of the Americas), and the “Master of Vallenato Sabanero”.
In 1962, Lisandro was part of the group ‘Los Corraleros de Mazagual’, a famous band in Venezuela and Colombia.
Recently, legendary Colombian artist Lisandro Meza has died at the age of 86. Lisandro Meza died on 23 December 2023 in Sincelejo, Sucre.

Lisandro Meza was born on 26 September 1937 in El Piñal, Los Palmitos, Sucre, Sucre, Colombia. Lisandro Meza’s parents were Victoria Márquez de Meza and Raymundo Meza. Lisandro Meza’s nationality is Colombian. he was a married man. He had a child, whose name is Lisandro Meza Jr.
Lisandro Meza began singing at a young age and learned to play the accordion with his father. After this, it became known as “La Armenia” in 1954.
In 1954 Meza recorded his first song—”Aroma de las Flores.” Subsequently, in 1961 Lisandro joined “Los Corraleros de Mazagual”, a popular group. This group was very famous in Venezuela and Colombia. Meza sang on 41 LPs with the group.
Following this, Meza announced that the group’s name was changed to “Combo Gigante”. In 1967 I Aza released his album “Fiesta Sabanera”, and also named his group “Lisandro Meza y Su Conjunto”.
Lisandro Meza released many albums such as Cocacolo Cabello (1957?), El Brujo Del Acordéon (1960), Fiesta Sabanera (1967), Alegría Sabenera (1964), En Nueva York (1970), El Accordion Pitador De Lisandro Meza (1973), Lisandro Meza (Colmusica, 1978), El Sabroso (1986), Mamando Gallo (1988), Por Que Usted Lo Ha Pedido (1996), La Universidad de la Cumbia (2010), and more.
Lisandro Meza released many albums with his group Los Corraleros de Majagua, including En Nueva York, Mi Clemencia, Arrincónala, Pura Pendejá, La Escapada, Evolucionar o Morir, and more.
