Herman Rush was born in 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He belonged to a show-business family. Herman’s uncle, Manie Sacks, served as Frank Sinatra’s early manager.
Harman began his television career in 1951 as a salesman in the official film, followed by a number of other roles.
In 1957, Herman acquired Flamingo Films and turned it into an independent syndication company.
Harman held the role of president of the television division at Creative Manager Associates during the 1960s and early 1970s.
Harman made his full contribution to International Creative Management (then General Artists Corporation).
Harman has played a significant role in keeping The Jackie Gleason Show, The Perry Como Show, The Kraft Music Hall, and The Hollywood Palace Show on the network.
