The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Ken Calvert died Wednesday at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Doctors and colleagues who worked with him have not revealed the cause of Ken Calvert’s death.

Ken Calvert worked at many radio stations in Detroit for 45 years. Additionally, for 16 years, Calvert worked as a public address announcer for the Pistons during the Bad Boys era.
Ken Calvert was born in Detroit. He did his studies at Brother Rice High School and he enrolled at Oakland Community College and Aquinas College in Grand Rapids.
Ken Calvert retired from WCSX 94.7-FM on December 20, 2013, 10 years before his death. Ken also serves as the host of “The Ken Calvert Show” podcast.
Ken Calvert’s wife said that she is feeling the love of many people, who are telling her that they love listening to Calvert.
Ken Calvert has also served as the local and regional promotions and marketing manager for Sony Music Corp.
Pistons shared an official statement mourning Calvert on Thursday morning-
“Ken was a Detroit radio legend and will be remembered by Pistons fans for his famous introductions and trademark style while entertaining the home arena crowd during the Bad Boys championship era,” the statement read. “His enthusiasm for the Pistons’ red, white, and blue was infectious during his 16 years with the team (1985-2001).”
