We couldn’t help but be happy for Dee Valladares and her big win after watching Survivor 45, but it wasn’t the only thing that made us smile during the finale. We’ve been waiting to hear the latest on Dee’s showmance with Austin Li Coon since the final few episodes! What is the status of Austin and Dee’s relationship now that they have returned to the United States? They both appeared to be quite into their showmance and both stated that their sentiments were completely genuine.
Are Dee and Austin Still Together From Survivor 2023?
Drew opted to go after Julie Alley after the Reba Four had dominated Survivor 45. However, Drew and Austin’s strategy was revealed to Julie when Austin opted to tell Dee, altering the course of the game. Dee informed Julie, and the two of them collaborated to surprise Emily. Austin suspected Julie had learned of the plan from someone else, but Dee confessed during Final Tribal Council. Dee managed to catch Austin off guard again in Episode 12 when the girls and Jake took down Drew. Dee chose not to tell Austin about the scheme yet again, and he later stated that if she had, he would have handed Drew his amulet to save him.
For all of these intentional moves, we wouldn’t blame Austin or Dee for dismissing their on-screen romance as something that happened during filming and wasn’t meant to endure. However, they appeared to be really interested in pursuing things after the cameras stopped rolling at the conclusion.
Dee and Austin Thought About their Relationship:
Jeff asked Dee to remark on the status of her relationship with Austin in the post-finale episode of the official Survivor podcast On Fire. She didn’t reveal much, but she did confirm that her and Austin’s connection remained after the cameras were turned off. It’s also worth noting that Dee follows at least two of Austin’s family members on Instagram (in addition to Austin himself). Even if they aren’t currently dating, there’s no denying they had a lot of fun flirting on national television.
