Those who knew Carson, 32, said he devoted his life to attempting to improve things.
Numerous members of Carson’s family and friends gathered in a park in Bedford-Stuyvesant carrying candles to commemorate his life.

No one has been arrested, according to the police, and the investigation is still open.
