What Happened to Tyler Doyle? Crew suspends search for boater missing in Myrtle Beach

The US Coast Guard has called off the search for Tyler Doyle, 23, who went missing after a boating mishap in North Myrtle Beach. The official Twitter handle of the United States Coast Guard Southeast provided an update on the suspension of their active search, which had lasted 45 hours and covered more than 694 miles, on January 28. Doyle went missing on the evening of January 26 after his boat took on water and capsized in the Little River area. According to Coast Guard officials, he was last spotted wearing khaki slacks and a camo jacket. The North Jetties rescued the other person on the boat.

What Happened to Tyler Doyle?

Doyle left for a duck hunt in a 16-foot john boat on January 26 and hasn’t returned. Just before 5.00 p.m. on the day of his abduction, Horry County Fire Rescue arrived on the scene. The North Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad and other authorities who helped hunt the missing child joined the squad. Tyler Doyle’s family also gathered at the Johnny Causey Boat Landing, accompanied by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol and a helicopter, hoping to see him again. By January 27, a Venmo account had been established, and funds had been transferred to supply biscuits and other vital supplies to those gathering around the search site. Over $800 was given within an hour of the account’s activation.


Tributes to Tyler Doyle:

According to his social media handles, Tyler Doyle is married and expecting a child. According to his Facebook page, he works at Carolina Kitchens, a refrigeration service in Loris. He was born in Loris, South Carolina. Lakelyn Chestnut Doyle, his wife, also prayed for her husband’s safe return in a Facebook post.

She stated: “Tyler, oh Tyler. My dear. My best pal. My entire being. Please return home. I really miss you. My heart is broken. Tyler is a powerful individual. Tyler is astute. I know he’s out there somewhere. PLEASE PRAY VERY STRONGLY. Paisley Grace requires your assistance.” Hannah Faulk put up a GoFundMe account, writing in the bio that the Doyle family is “extremely important to her heart.” The account was created to assist Lakelyn financially while she is pregnant. As of this writing, the account had raised $11,295 of the $15,000 target.
