Pele’s daughter, Kely Nascimento, was heartbroken after grieving the loss of her father and a legendary Brazilian footballer who passed away at 82. On Thursday the football legend at Sao Paulo hospital took his last breath. Kely Cristina Nascimento announced his death in a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday. Kely posted a picture showing several pairs of hands grasping around her father’s hand with a caption saying that everything we had today was because of her father. The translation of the post reads: “Everything we are is thanks to you. We love you infinitely. Rest in peace,”

Pele’s Cause of Death Explained

Pele was having treatment for colon cancer at Sao Paulo hospital and also battling kidney problems. In September 2021 Pele also underwent surgery to remove a tumor. His condition had become worse with the increasing time and thus the legendary footballer put an end to his battle with health problems and finally took his last breath on Thursday.

Messi shared a picture of himself with Pele to pay tribute to him with a caption written: “Rest in peace, Pele,”. Christiano Ronaldo also with a long note and a picture of Pele paid his tribute to the Brazilian legend.

Pele dedicated all his life to football, and his love for football shows when the legend didn’t miss out on supporting Brazil in Qatar during the FIFA World Cup 2022 despite his bad health conditions. The fans and players also paid tribute to Pele in their own unique way. Pele also shared a picture of the Argentina team lifting the trophy and praising words for Lionel Messi, which reads: “Today, football continues to tell its story, as always, in an enthralling way. What a gift it was to watch this spectacle of the future of our sport,”

Pele was born on 23 October 1940 in Tres Coracoes, Brazil. The legendary footballer received the title of ” The Greatest” from FIFA, as he is the only footballer in history to win three World Cups in the years 1958, 1962, and 1970 respectively. The Brazilian footballer was nicknamed ” O Rie” which means the king. Pele in his historic career scored more than 1000 goals before retiring in 1977.
