Rachel Curtis,” a Funny and Intelligent” mother of a 14-year-old boy named Rhys, was killed alongside a man in a mini cooper crash into the river Tawe in Swansea, South Wales. Rachel and the man killed were both aged 36.
How Did Rachel Curtis Die? Cause of Death Explained
According to the information available from sources, Welsh Ambulance Service received a call at 3:o7am and immediately sent two rapid response vehicles and two road ambulances to the accidental spot. A black mini john cooper arrived at the scene fully submerged in water. The police then recovered the dead bodies of both victims and confirmed that the woman found in the driving seat was Rachel Curtis from the Bonymaen area of Swansea, and the man was Jay Kyle Jenkins from the St. Thomas area. The A483 New Cut road where the accident occurred was thus closed by police till further information.
Investigation Details
A large crane from the river pulled the mini cooper. Accident Investigations are going on, although no other vehicle was involved at the scene. The department previously said:
‘Emergency services attended, and a black Mini John Cooper Works was found fully submerged in the river. The bodies of a woman and a man, aged 36, were recovered.
‘Their families have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.’
Police are thus asking people if anyone witnessed the accident, the CCTV camera footage, or any relevant information. They are interacting with people whom Rachel and Jay, before the incident, contacted and mentioned case number 2200429694. The mini cooper was also sent to check for mechanical issues in the car.

As soon as the police identified the dead bodies, tributes poured on social media. People in a large number are paying tribute and condolences to the family.
Rachel’s Family said: ‘Rachel was a funny, intelligent and unique person. She was extremely talented and creative in nails and art. She worked at the Liberty Stadium teaching therapeutic art and nail art.
‘She was a self-defence instructor and an elite security instructor, trained as a close protection officer and door supervisor.
‘She helped raise money for the ‘Jack Lewis Foundation’ which is a suicide prevention charity. Rachel also raised money for ‘Matthews House’ a homeless charity and was involved in youth projects helping young girls.
‘Rachel will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, especially her 14 year old son.’
Her dearest friend Lucia Watkins wrote: ‘Rest in peace Rachel Curtis, I still can’t believe you have gone. I will miss our chats and your crazy sense of humour.
‘You made my uni life memorable with your craziness and randomness. I will always remember you for your sense of humour, brains and talent in drawing.’
