Joseph Marley, also known as Jo Mersa Marley, the grandson of legendary reggae star Bob Marley and the son of Stephen Marley, died suddenly at the age of 31. The reggae singer was found insensitive inside a vehicle in the USA on Tuesday. His death news was made public by the streaming service TIDAL. Reporter Abka Fitz Henley said that-
“Jo Mersa was found unresponsive inside a vehicle while in the United States”. “Forever in our hearts. RIP Jo Mersa Marley.” Tidal posted on Twitter.
Joseph, at the time of his death, was survived by his wife, children and sister.
Joseph Marley’s Cause of Death
South Florida radio station WZPP on Instagram reported the cause of his death. According to them, Jo Mersa died due to a severe asthma attack. Although the location where the attack occurred did not specify, the autopsy result has not been revealed yet.

Jamaican Opposition leader Mark J Golding paid tribute to Joseph Marley on Twitter Penn:
“I’ve just learned of the tragic loss of Joseph “Jo Mersa” Marley. A talented young reggae artiste, son of Stephen Marley & grandson of Bob Marley at only 31 yrs old. The loss of a child is a devastating blow no parent should face, my condolences to Stephen & the entire family.”
Joseph Marley’s Paternal History
Jo Mersa Marley was the grandson of legendary reggae singer Bob Marley, who significantly contributed to Reggae music’s vulgarisation. Bobby, in his most successful career, delivered some unforgettable hits, including ” Everything Gonna Be Alright”, “Is This Love”, “I Shot the Sheriff”, “Get Up, Stand Up”, and “No Woman, No Cry”. In 1961 Bobby, at 36, died due to cancer. The singer leaves behind his eleven children, four from his wife and seven from other women. Stephen Marley, the father of Joseph Marley, is one of them. Stephen, also following his father’s footsteps, made a name in the reggae music industry, and has eleven children.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Joseph opened up about his upbringing and said: “It was a very magical thing, seeing those people come around to the house and how the whole work process would happen.
“I would come home and try to do homework, but I’d get distracted and go peek in the studio.
“You would always want to run in and run out to see what was going on.”
