What Happened to Bolanle Raheem?
On Sunday, Bolanle Raheem, a female Lagos-based attorney, was slain. She was allegedly killed by an unidentified police officer from the Lagos police command. According to sources, some police officers from the Ajiwe police station in Ajah ordered the automobile to halt. A gunshot fired at the car by one of the officers is thought to have wounded the lawyer. On Christmas Day, the lawyer was returning from a church service when a police officer opened fire on her and her husband’s automobile. The police officer and other police officers fled the scene after killing the victim. The occurrence took occurred beneath the Ajah bridge on the Lekki-Epe highway. The victim was rushed to the hospital as soon as the tragedy occurred, but physicians declared her dead.
Yvonne’s assertion:
Yvonne, a lawyer, reported what occurred in a social media post, and the message reads, “My name is Barr. Yvonne belongs to the NBA Lagos Branch. I attempted to contact you, but I think you’re too busy. “My employer, Barr Omobolanle Raheem, was shot dead by a POLICE OFFICER today on her way back from a Christmas service at Ajah under the bridge,” Ms. Yvonne stated. “Her family just called me today, saying they need a lawyer to stand in for them before the cops change the narrative,” she added. They have reported the incident to the Ajiwe Police Station. The officer is from the Ajiwe police station. Barr, her husband was driving, and Omobolanle was sat in the front with him.”
According to Ms Yvonee, the accused officer asked the couple to park, and “they needed the vehicle in front of them to move so they could park nicely, and instantaneously the police officer shot at close range directly into her chest.” “The remaining police officers, after watching what transpired,” she continued. After a while, some police officers arrived and transported her body to the Yaba mortuary without seeking permission from her family members. Her family has discovered where they relocated her body. I’m not now in Lagos. I thought I’d ask you for your advice and aid, mother. Thank you very much.”
NBA demands Justice:
The Nigerian Bar Association has announced that it will see that justice is served in the case of Bolanle Raheem, a lawyer who was shot dead by a police officer on Christmas Day. The NBA’s national publicity secretary, Akorede Lawal, responded by calling the incident unpleasant and stating that the organisation’s president, Yakubu Maikyau, was keeping an eye on the situation. We are aware of this tragic situation, he commented on Twitter. This is just another heinous crime committed against a lawyer. Unfortunately, our member has passed away. The NBA President @YCMaikyauSAN is correct, and we will ensure that justice is delivered.”
