Birmingham drive-by shooting kills 12-year-old sleeping girl

On Wednesday, a sleeping girl around 13 years old was killed by firing 17 bullets. This incident happened Wednesday morning at her Birmingham home while she was sleeping in bed with two friends. The exact location was 500 Block of 16th Avenue N.W., while the incident happened at around 2:00 AM Wednesday. On a report of a person shot, East Precinct officers arrived. Police officers were informed by the family members that a gunshot was fired while the girl was sleeping in bed.

Jefferson County Coroner’s officers determined the child as Audriana Pearson, a 12 years old girl. When Firefighters arrived at the scene, they immediately declared the child had died. After the incident, the police started their investigation, and after getting anonymous tips, they took three persons into police custody. “In a regular invastigation , some pepople were caught in a vehicle pursit, in our thinking they must be conncted to the last night incident”, as told by the police officials. As said by Mayor Randall Woodfin, the dead girl was 12 years old and would have turned 13 in the upcoming January 17. Jefferson County school system says she was a 7th grader student.

“This is heartbreaking news for all of us; we have sympathy with all who know Audriana,” said Dr Walter Gonsoulin, superintendent. Dr Angela Bush, Erwin Middle School, also explained the little girl “Audriana was a very charming girl with a very bright future. she was a very socialised person and enjoyed spending time with her friends and favourite teachers,”. Dr Bush further added, ” we met with Audriana’s family today and share our condolences on behalf of the whole Erwin Middle School staff. We all are with the family in this hard situation, and we will get through this painful tragedy.

The police said that 17 bullets were shot into the house; we will use our very best resources to find the culprits of this innocent death. Woodfin updates her Facebook account through this ” The family of little girl are all set to celebreating this christmas with their daughter.” Woodfin tweeted, ” The little girl was ready to enjoy her christmas holidays, but while she slpet in her bedroom, her life was robbed by some unkonwn perosns. Now she was the another victim of the drive by shoot out; this time, another inoccent person were stolen from us due to reckless behavior of others”.

The mayor added, ” This news breaks my heart , now after the shot gunfire, her house were silent for alwyas; when i talked to Minnie’s mother, she told me that the little girl was planning to get a pink iPad and AirPods this Christmas”.
