Stephanie Bissonnette was an American stage choreographer most known for her work on the Broadway musical Mean Girls, in which she played Dawn Schweitzer. She was also included in Ensemble, a Broadway on Demand documentary about Broadway dancers managing the COVID-19 closure. Bissonnette attended the Conservatory of the Performing Arts at Point Park University. She worked as a choreographer for The Muny, Riverside Theatre, Seven Angels Theatre, and Shakespeare Theatre Company in addition to her theatre work. She was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in 2019 and died on December 17, 2022, at 32.

She was diagnosed in 2019 after sensing something unusual in her brain while tumbling, which resulted in surgery a few days later. Bissonnette announced her radiation treatment completion on Instagram in April 2019: “Thanking the Lord for his love and light through this. Friends, we can only go higher from here.” When she wasn’t performing, Bissonnette was a popular teacher. She taught contemporary musical theatre dance in New York City for many years. “The BDC family mourns the passing of our wonderful friend Stephanie Bissonnette,” Broadway Dance Center, where she predominantly taught, said in an Instagram story tribute.
