Cornelius Police Department on Saturday, December 17, 2022, announces Madalina Cojocari’s mother and her stepfather’s arrest for not reporting the missing of their child. The officials announced that they would open an investigation regarding Madalina’s disappearance against Christopher Palmiter and Diana Cojocari seeking the help of the FBI and the North Carolina State Bureau. The reason why her parents did not report her missing is yet unknown. Her parents were under suspicion for waiting so long to report her missing.
The Police Department in a statement said-
“On December 17, 2022, at approximately 10:15 this morning, Cornelius Police arrested Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, for Failure to Report the Disappearance of a Child to Law Enforcement. Cojocari never reported her daughter, Madalina Cojocari as missing after she was last seen in Cornelius on November 23, 2022.”
The 11-year-old North Carolina girl was reported missing since November 23 from her home in Cornelius, about 20 miles north of Charlotte. Her parents took more than three weeks to report her missing to a School resource officer at Bailey Middle School. Madalina was however last seen wearing a white T-shirt and jacket with pink and purple jeans along with white Adidas shoes. Her height as described by the FBI is 4 feet 10 inches and her weight is 90 pounds. Her photo released to the public is looking like an innocent girl with a soft smile on her face.
Both the suspects are kept at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center. Authorities are asking citizens with regard to any information about the missing girl can contact to Cornelius Police Department.
