South Carolina GOP congresswoman Nancy Mace was praised after she scrutinized a transgender activist for her dangerous rhetoric statements made against Supreme Court Justices. This week Mace went viral for a heated argument she had with activist Alejandro Caraballo.
During a hearing of the House Oversight Committee on links between white supremacy and anti-LGBT figures Mace reads one of Caraballo’s tweets loudly. Caraballo’s tweet called for Americans to treat the Supreme Court justices who voted to pitch Roe v Wade as “pariahs”. The Tweet reads-
“The 6 justices who overturned Roe should never know peace again. It is our civic duty to accost them every time they are in public. They are pariahs. Since women don’t have their rights, these justices should never have a peaceful moment in public again.”
While Caraballo defended herself by saying that Mace was not giving the correct characterization of her tweets, which Mace in return pointed out that a man in June was arrested for attempting to exterminate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a result of the draft opinion leak overturning Roe v Wade.
The verbal battle on Twitter in a post by the account ” Libs of TikTok” alone has been liked thirty thousand times. Mace contemplates that violent rhetoric against government officials is a threat to democracy. She asked all five witnesses whether they also consider the same point singling out Alejandra Caraballo. On Wednesday Mace also posted a snowflake emoji displaying a screenshot of Caraballo blocking her on Twitter.
