Captain Seth Petersen, an eight-year Teays Valley Fire Department employee, died unexpectedly at home. The cause of death for Lt. Seth Petersen has not yet been revealed. Captain Petersen oversaw community relations efforts while working as a firefighter and paramedic for the agency. According to the Teays Valley Fire Department’s death announcement, “We previously knew of Seth Petersen’s untimely demise. He was beloved and respected by many for his many years of loyal service to the community. I want to express my sympathies to his family and his brothers and sisters in the Charleston and Teays Valley Fire Departments.”
Teays Valley Fire Chief John Smoot said: “Although our hearts are heavy, we will attempt to honour his legacy of honourable service and devotion to others.” Medical subjects have tried to get in touch with their family and friends to ask about the occurrence. According to the city, Lt. Petersen has most recently worked at Station 1 throughout his 13 years with the department. According to the Teays Valley Fire Department, he was also a Captain and Paramedic. Lieutenant Petersen’s service to the City of Charleston and the area demonstrates that he prioritised others and, above all, cared about helping people, “Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin stated. “I had the honour and pleasure of working with Lieutenant Petersen daily, and I can honestly say that there have been few people I’ve worked with who had more devotion and love for assisting than Seth,” stated Charleston Fire Chief Chad Jones. All of his Charleston Fire Department brothers and sisters will work hard to honour his legacy and remember Lieutenant Petersen for the numerous lives he saved.”
