Captain Seth Petersen, an eight-year Teays Valley Fire Department employee, died unexpectedly at home. The cause of death for Lt. Seth Petersen has not yet been revealed. Captain Petersen oversaw community relations efforts while working as a firefighter and paramedic for the agency. According to the Teays Valley Fire Department’s death announcement, “We previously knew of Seth Petersen’s untimely demise. He was beloved and respected by many for his many years of loyal service to the community. I want to express my sympathies to his family and his brothers and sisters in the Charleston and Teays Valley Fire Departments.”

Teays Valley Fire Chief John Smoot said: “Although our hearts are heavy, we will attempt to honour his legacy of honourable service and devotion to others.” Medical subjects have tried to get in touch with their family and friends to ask about the occurrence.
