Al Bemiller, a two-time AFL champion for the Buffalo Bills, has died. Let’s look at what happened to him and Al Bemiller’s cause of death.

Who is Al Bemiller?

Al Bemiller, one of Buffalo’s longest-serving AFL players, died on Wednesday. Bemiller, the Bills’ offensive line pivot for nine seasons, was literally at the heart of Buffalo’s back-to-back AFL championship teams. Bemiller, a Bills seventh-round pick in 1961, was also selected by the St. Louis Cardinals, but he chose Buffalo for two reasons. For one thing, it was closer to his hometown of Pennsylvania, and for another, a starting position was promised. Bemiller earned the starting position at centre right away and kept it for the next nine seasons.

Al Bemiller’s Star Recognition:

His two AFL championships, which also helped him earn AFL All-Star status in 1965, were the zenith of his professional career. After first courting him for his wrestling skills, Syracuse University’s head football coach, Ben Schwartzwalder, persuaded him to join the football team. Bemiller was a starter and helped the Orangemen win the national championship that year. After leaving the Bills, Bemiller remained in Western NYC and worked as the director. He also ran many businesses, including a club in Hamburg. Bemiller became an extremely wrestling coach at High School.
