Stanford University’s Swimming Coach Skip Kenny died at 79, Death Cause Explained

Skip Kenny, the coach of Stanford University’s men’s swimming team took his last breath on Sunday 26 November at the age of 79. At the time of his death, he was no longer with his family. He was the Atlanta Olympics Head Coach for 1996 and Assistant Coach to the 1984 and 1988 teams. Despite being the most successful coach of all time Kenny’s profession ended up with a scandal. Several People paid tribute to the soul. Our condolences and support are with his family and colleagues. May his soul rest in peace.

As per the sources Kenney was in hospice care after he fall head over heels and breaks both of his hips. Kenney with the hope of recovering some flexibility was having surgery. But it seems like god has some other plans for him, Kenney’s surgery was not successful and the swimming coach has left everyone shocked by his sudden demise.

Skip Kenney, the swimming coach was born on February 24, 1943. As a teen, he was in Fresno, California and attended Fresno Excessive College. In his boyhood times, he performed baseball and went scuba diving. After graduation, he was enlisted in the US Marines.

Kenney was the Atlanta Olympic head coach in 1996 and assistant coach to the 1984 and 1988 groups. He at one time coached 18 Olympic Swimmers who attain a complete 16 Olympic Medals. In 2004 and 2005 he was enlisted into the Worldwide Swimming Corridor of fame and the American Swim Coaches Corridor of Fame. He was regarded as one of the iconic coaches in college swimming.

Coach Kenney in his career span won numerous awards including CSCAA Coach of the year ( 1982, 1985-1987,1992, 1988).

Despite being the most successful coach of all time, Kenney was also famous for all the wrong reasons. In March 2007  he was suspended by Stanford after admitting that he had intentionally erased school records and top rankings of various athletes from the team’s media guide with whom he had debates. Kenney was also multiple times charged with unhealthy behaviour towards athletes.
