In the event that neither parent remarries, Judge Mohd Amran ruled that the couple’s two children will have shared custody. According to Azmi, the court upheld the objection and set the appointment of a “hakam” for December 8. In the event that the husband still declines to declare the divorce, the hakam, a committee chosen by the Shariah Court, will utter the talak in his place.
