Dave Hillman, the oldest living player of the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds passes away at the age of 95 on November 20, 2022, in Kingsport Tennesse. He was a former major league pitcher for the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, Reds, and Mets. Considering his age Dave must have died due to natural causes but the official confirmation of the reason for his death has not yet been disclosed. It seems that there may be some health issues that he might be suffering from because of his age.

Darius Dutton Dave Hillman was born on September 14, 1927, in Dungannon, Virginia. He was a tall man with a height of 5 feet 11 inches and weighs 168 pounds. He was the fifth child of his Mother, Ollie Ruth (Peters) Hillman and Father, Carmel W. Hillman. His father was a supervisor of the Railroad Bridge Team. Dave graduated from Dungannon High School in 1945 where he participated in basketball and baseball.

Prior to his debut as a sportsperson, he served in the US Air Force from 1945 to 1947 for 21 months.

Hillman made his career debut with the Chicago Clubs in 1955. After playing for Chicago Clubs for five years he then moved to Boston Red Sox and then Cincinnati Reds and then to Newyork Mets. He recorded career highs while playing for the Cubs. On May 6, 1959, at Forbes Field, he defeated Harvey Haddix and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hillman in his eight-year career span pitched in 188 games compiling a 21-37 record, 296 Strikeouts, three saves, 3.87 runs earned average and 624 innings pitched.

Hillman as a reliever of the 1961 Red Sox pitched 78 innings and 28 games making a 3-2 record and 2.77 ERA.
