Enner Remberto Valencia Lastra, an Ecuadorian professional football player who plays forward for Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe and leads the Ecuadorian national team, was born on November 4, 1989. He won both the 2013 Copa Sudamericana Golden Boot and the 2013 Ecuadorian Serie A while playing for Emelec in Ecuador. Prior to this, Valencia played for Pachuca in Mexico, where he took home the 2014 Clausura championship and the Liga MX Golden Boot. He paid an estimated £12 million to join West Ham United in England in July 2014. Valencia spent the 2016–17 season on loan at Everton before being purchased by the Mexican team Tigres UANL in July 2017.
He won the 2017 Apertura and 2019 Clausura competitions in Liga MX with Tigres, finished second in the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League, and took home the Golden Boot for that event. In 2008, Valencia, a member of Caribe Junior’s youth division and a former player for Ecuador’s national team Antonio Valencia, travelled to Guayaquil to test out for Emelec. He was moved to Emelec in 2008. Valencia didn’t have any first team opportunities from 2008 to the beginning of 2010, but after Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli took over Valencia began to get playtime opportunities.
