Jesse Lingard eventually broke his duck for Nottingham Forest, scoring in a 2-0 win that knocked Tottenham out of the Carabao Cup. Lingard had a disappointing start to his Forest career following his surprise free transfer in the summer, with no goals or assists in his first 12 appearances. In the second half, the former Manchester United forward headed seven minutes after Renan Lodi. This was Antonio Conte’s side to break their trophy drought, but they failed miserably.

It competes in the Premier League, English football’s highest tier. Tottenham Hotspur was founded in 1882, and its emblem is a cockerel with the Latin slogan Audere est Facere.
Nottm Forest Smart Play:
High up the pitch, Forest regained possession and passed the ball out to Lodi, who was allowed to move into the far corner. Only with his feet by Forster prevented Sam Surridge from scoring a second time. Lingard, ultimately tapping in from Surridge, pushed Serge Aurier’s cross back. Kane was quickly replaced in an apparent pre-planned move, which did little to boost Spurs’ chances of a comeback. The Spurs could not mount a comeback, with Richarlison having an effort ruled off for offside.
Tottenham was at their worst in an indifferent Forest defeat:
If there is one way to avoid returning after a slow start, it is not to bother at all. To put it mildly, Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur were second best for most of their Carabao Cup third-round loss to Nottingham Forest. While that could have been excused if the Italian had picked a heavily rotated, there were few surprises in the starting XI, with only a newcomer.
