Chief of police arrested following an overdose on girlfriend’s brother:
The police chief of a tiny Missouri town suffered the repercussions of this drug bust.
William Jones, the director of the Louisiana, Missouri, police force, was charged with second-degree drug smuggling after Gabe Thone, the 24-year-old brother and his fiancée, was pronounced dead from what appeared to be an accident at the lawman’s apartment on Tuesday night.
Alexis Thone, a colleague of Jones’ who is 25 years old, and Gabriel’s younger brother, who is 21 years old, were also discovered in distress but instead were treated with Narcan, according to authorities.
According to a reasonable suspicion affidavit from a sheriff’s officer, the investigation discovered what they believed to be fentanyl at home. The identical substance would then be examined by Missouri State Road Patrol.
The reasonable suspicion document claims that Jones gave away narcotics test kits in the trash before deputies arrived in an effort “to destroy, suppress, and conceal material proof.”
The policeman was detained throughout a traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon and was being detained on a $150,000 cash-only bond. He may well have interfered with evidence and be in receipt of a prohibited substance.
One works as the chief of police in Louisiana, Missouri, a town of 3,200 individuals residing 90 miles (145 kilometres) north of St. Louis, all along the Mississippi River.
Alexis Thone, Jones’ girlfriend, who is just 25, was also accused of second-degree drug smuggling and illicit drug use. On a $100,000 cash-only bail, she was imprisoned.
The investigation of the incident:

Alexis Thone’s brother was Gabriel Thone. According to the sheriff, their 21-year-old brother was at home with breathing difficulties but was saved by the opioid overdose recovery drug naloxone.
Jones was placed under arrest in Louisiana after a stop sign on Wednesday afternoon.
If Jones was the police chief was not readily evident. On Thursday, the mayor didn’t return calls or emails, and the individual who answered her phone at City Hall said she really could not comment.
