Pop Singer Taylor Swift Receives Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts, Inspires Graduating Class

The multi-Grammy award winner Pop singer Taylor Swift received an honorary doctorate of Fine Arts from the New York University on Wednesday.

Taylor Swift’s Honorary Doctorate

The Pop singer and one of the most followed persons on social media, Taylor Swift, received her honorary doctorate of Fine Arts. On the same occasion, she also gave the commencement address and inspired the students of class ’22 in the same university.

In a published article in CBS News, Taylor Swift jokingly said “I’m 90% sure that the reason I’m here is because I have a song called ’22’. She also mentioned that she never got to have a normal college experience because she went to public school so she could pursue her career in music.

The Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts was given to Taylor Swift because of her contribution to the music industry even if she did not get a 4-year degree course.

Taylor Swift Gave A Commencement Address

During the event, Taylor Swift did not only give a typical speech but she inspired and motivate the class of ’22 from New York University about how important it is to fail and rise again in the future. She told the grads not to be ashamed of trying and effortlessness is a myth.

She said “Hard things will happen to us. We will recover. We will learn from it. We will grow more resilient because of it. As long as we are fortunate enough to be breathing, we will breathe in, breathe through, breathe deep, breathe out,” according to a published article in CNN News.

Meanwhile, the New York University first announced in March that Taylor Swift will the Commencement Speaker. Following this, people tried to buy tickets from the graduating students. However, the university’s policy prohibits the students to sell or auction the tickets. They were also allowed only to have two tickets each.
