Release Date of ‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’

Just almost three years after the debut of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Toei Animation confirmed that a new Dragon Ball Super feature film would be released in cinemas in 2022.

Release Date

According to the first teaser, the release date of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has been set for sometime in 2022, however this may vary based on the nations and regions. Before it opens in the United States, however, the picture will most certainly have its world debut in Japan before making its way to cinemas here.

Anime developers revealed during the NYCC 2021 panel that the film would be released in Japan in 2022 but that the release dates for North America and other areas have yet to be finalized. After Toei Animation announced at Jump Festa 2021 that the Japanese release date of Dragon Super: Super Hero would be April 22, 2022, we’ve got an update for you!

On January 6, it was announced that the film would open in Thailand on June 2. This summer, audiences in North America will be able to see Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero in cinemas thanks to an announcement made during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2022 event on February 19.

Dragon Ball Super has already given Goku and Vegeta their day to shine, but Toei Animation’s Comic-Con panel revealed that other Z warriors would have their turn to shine in the next movie. According to one of the creators of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Gohan and Piccolo will play a major role in the plot of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly takes place after but before the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai Tournament, according to character designs published so far. The next Dragon Ball Super film will be set in the future and announced during NYCC 2022. The new androids Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 were also unveiled in Akira Toriyama’s original work, which was likewise exposed by the panel.
