Netflix Announces the New Season of ‘Ghost in the Shell’
The second season of the computer-generated anime Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045 will air on Netflix in 2022, according to Netflix Japan’s official Twitter account. Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045 is a continuation of the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex anime and an original net animation (ONA).
In 2020, Netflix launched the first season of the show. The year is 2045, and the world has entered a “Sustainable War” as a result of tremendous advancements in AI technology. Batou, Motoko’s deputy, and she have left Section 9 and are traveling to the west coast of the United States in quest of fresh prospects. To combat “post-humans,” persons with exceptional mental and physical abilities, the members of Section 9 have been compelled to combine.
Story Behind the ‘Ghost in the Shell’
Masamune Shirow created a cyberpunk comic called Ghost in the Shell in 1989. Public Security Section 9 and one of its operatives, Major Motoko Kusanagi, are the focus of the plot, which takes place in Japan in the middle of the 21st century.
SAC 2045 is the first time that the Ghost in the Shell series has been animated entirely in CGI. Motion capture technology was used by the animators to create a feeling of photo-realism in 3D images.
