Netflix has just published the launch trailer for its contemporary horror sequel to the renowned 1974 cult hit. Simply called Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the upcoming follow-up is planned to appear on the streaming site on Feb. 18, 2022.
What To Expect in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
“Leatherface,” a horror legend who had been tainted in recent sequels, returns in Netflix’s greatest movie of the month.” When Leatherface reappears after a half-century in hiding, he hasn’t lost any of his youthful lustfulness. TCM co-writer Kim Henkel and Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez are also on board, as is a respectable crew of producers and writers.
There is just one survivor from Leatherface’s’massacre’ in the latest Halloween films. In Olwen Fouéré’s portrayal of Sally Hardesty, a silver-haired badass with a shotgun, we see a woman out for vengeance. Because it’s a straight sequel to 1974’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you won’t have to go back and see anything to catch up.

For those who don’t know, Ed Gein, the real-life inspiration for Leatherface, was a serial killer known for donning people’s masks. Several of Tobe Hooper’s films are based on the famed serial killer’s gruesome deeds.
