The third and last batch of $1,400 stimulus checks, which were sent to the majority of taxpayers last year, are only being made available to those who file their taxes this year.
$1,400 Stimulus Checks For Eligible Americans
In a recently published article in CNBC, using the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit on your tax return is a need if you haven’t received your $1,400 stimulus check for yourself or your dependents, or if you received less than you’re entitled to.
Unless you file an amended tax return for 2021 later on, this is your last chance to claim your stimulus money for 2021. According to the IRS, most individuals have already received all of the stimulus funds they the agency released.
Meanwhile, the Internal Revenue Service also said that in order to receive the funds for themselves or their dependents, Americans must meet the income eligibility requirements. However, they cannot receive the last $1,400 stimulus check if they do not qualify.
Eligibility To Get the Last $1,400 Stimulus Check
Assume you’re a single taxpayer in 2020 with an AGI of $80,000 or more. Because of this, you would not have been eligible for a stimulus payment. Your AGI would be eligible for the whole $1,400 if it dropped below $75,000 in 2021.
To qualify for the full stimulus check, if your AGI was $80,000 in 2021, you may contribute $5,000 to your conventional IRA to decrease your taxable income enough to meet the $75,000 AGI threshold. In order to profit from this, you must do so prior to submitting your 2021 tax return.
A letter from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) explaining the stimulus money you’ve received and how much more you’re entitled for should have arrived by now. Doing so will make your tax return much easier to prepare. The Recovery Rebate Credit may be claimed more easily if tax software prompts you to answer questions regarding your stimulus payments.
