Vladimir Putin’s Demand

Russia’s Demand that NATO withdraw soldiers and weapons from eastern Europe and ban Ukraine from ever joining are non-starters, according to Washington. However, it says it is willing to address other issues such as arms control and confidence-building measures.

According to the current report of Fox News, Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed Wednesday that the US has delivered formal responses to Russia’s demand. It states that Kremlin will decide how to proceed amid rising tensions between the two countries. He told reporters that the response outlined a genuine diplomatic route ahead for Russia if it so desired. It is based on a principle and pragmatic assessment of Moscow’s concern.

The next phase of the crisis will determine by whether Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to accept that limited agenda. Moscow masses roughly 100,000 troops along the Ukrainian border while rejecting any plans to invade.
